UP PGH: is it worth it?
Hi! I’m a nurse from the province and I recently received an email inviting me for an interview at UP-PGH. I’m still not sure if I’ll get accepted, but I’m already thinking ahead just in case.
If ever I do get accepted, it would mean moving to Manila and basically building a life there from scratch (looking for a condo/bedspace, adjusting to the cost of living, etc.). That’s a big change for me since I’m currently based in the province.
I just wanted to ask those who have worked or are currently working at UP-PGH:
• How is the work environment there?
• Is there any work-life balance, or is it mostly work and exhaustion?
• How stressful is the workload compared to other hospitals?
• Do you think it’s worth relocating to Manila for this opportunity?
I know PGH is a prestigious hospital and a great place for learning, but I’m also trying to be realistic about the lifestyle change and the stress level.
Would really appreciate honest insights from people who have experienced working there. Thank you!
