Laptop for Steam

I’m trying to download Steam on my Chromebook and it’s saying Steam is no longer compatible with Chromebook beta. I don’t know much about gaming computers, does anyone have suggestions for a cheap gaming laptop that I can buy today to play STS2? Thanks!
