Deciding baby’s name after birth?

FTM due in June and husband and I are planning to name the baby after she’s born. We have a short list of names, but they all have completely different vibes. I know it’s customary in some countries to wait to name the baby, but those of you specifically in the US who waited, are you glad you did? Do you think spending some time with the baby helped you land on a name? Or did it add more anxiety/decision fatigue?
