I Actually Really Love the Ending of TNAS
This might be a controversial take, but I’m glad the show didn’t continue because I really liked the ending. TNAS was meant to be a continuation of the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man, and I like how the show follows up Goblin’s famous “In spite of everything” line and Peter actually quits. Another thing is we already have Spider-Man 2, which is an excellent movie that adapted Peter giving up being Spider-Man, but of course, that is short-lived. I have no doubt if TNAS continued, Peter would become Spider-Man again. I feel like that would make the ending very cheap. Contrary to popular belief, the ending isn’t really a cliffhanger; it’s still a complete story, just a really sad ending. I know people like to accuse the show of bad animation, but I don’t know; to me, the animation has loads of charm and I see it as an art style rather than dated early animation.
