I Thought Hydroponics Was Complicated Until I Actually Tried It

For the longest time I avoided hydroponics.

Everywhere online people talk about pH charts, EC numbers, nutrient formulas, controllers, sensors… it makes it sound like you need a lab just to grow a few plants.

A few months ago I finally tried a tiny setup in my apartment just to see what would happen.

Nothing fancy.
A small reservoir, a cheap LED grow light, a little fan, and a couple lettuce plants.

What surprised me the most was how simple it actually felt once everything was running.

Plants grow steady, roots look super clean, and when something is slightly off the plants show it pretty quickly. You fix it and they bounce back fast.

It made me realize hydroponics isn’t really complicated… it just looks complicated from the outside.

I wrote a short article about this after experimenting for a few months with my small setup.
