My cat isn’t too affectionate or cuddly, any ideas why?
Most cats I've met enjoyed sitting near their owner, or even complete strangers. My cat isn't like this at all, he wont sleep on the bed, sit on the couch when we watch tv, and doesn't regularly come into the bedroom. It is very strange to me. I would've liked a cat who cuddles, but its never been the case (even with our previous shelter cat)
My cat is 3-4 years old. We adopted him when he was already a couple months old. We believe he is half Norwegian forest cat, and he lives indoors. Maybe he isn’t a physical cat because of his long fur? We also feed him via an automatic feeder, i feel like that might be worth mentioning. My younger sister (she is now 12) sometimes ”hugs” or traps him in her arms while he is on the ground. She is never agressive but sometimes she does not let him go when he tries to wiggle out. She does it less often, now. Maybe he is scared? He also tends to be very weary when he enters a room and jumps when he brushes on a plastic bag. He is a pretty hesitant cat. I spend the most time with him, and the most he will do is butt his head against me and purr when i pet him. Does anybody known if this will change? I know norwegian forests mature late, at 5y. Maybe he is young? please let me know what you think.
