Sharing a new project: Finance for Freelancers

Personal Story

Hi, fellow freelancers! My name is Natasha.

I wanted to share a new project I'm working on. I'm not sure if this will get me banned here. But my intention is to share a completely free resource. I'm also very open to feedback and suggestions. So if you have any ideas for topics you'd like me to cover, please let me know.

I've been a freelance writer for over a decade. I dived into the full-time freelance life in late 2016 after returning home after spending two years living and working abroad.

Much of my writing has been in the finance space, freelancing for brands like NerdWallet. I'm also a total nerd who loves listening, reading, writing, and talking about financial topics.

I've been wanting to make more time for non-client writing and have also been challenging myself to step out of my comfort zone more. So I launched a weekly newsletter, Finance for Freelancers. I'm still a beginner newsletter writer. I have only published three posts so far!

Here's why I created this resource: I spend a lot of time reading and listening to financial content. I've noticed there's a lack of financial content catered toward freelancers. For many of us freelancers, our finances look different than that of an employee.

Income fluctuations, self-employment taxes, needing to fund and plan for our own "benefits" like vacatio nor sick days, needing to invest for retirement, etc.

I plan to use this space to talk about important financial matters from a freelancing lens. I will also dive into discussions about how our everyday freelancing business choices impact our finances.

I hope to help my fellow freelancers rethink how they manage their money and business, and to provide resources that make it easier to manage their finances.

I don't want to break any rules, so I won't be including a URL.

But it's free to read. If this sounds interesting, I'd love to have you. :)
