Tire PSI question for bigger guys

Hello, I have a Poseidon X Ambition Gen 2 with 700x40c tires. I weigh roughly 245-250 lbs. Whats the recommended tire pressure? I mostly do road and light gravel. Everytime I sit on my bike the tire looks squished so im scared if I over due it with air it'll pop.
