Hey everyone, just sharing my experience for any ’22/23 Arteon owners considering a tune. Stage 1 one since June 2024, and I put APR Stage 2 (intake + intercooler) on mine back in June 2024. I’ve driven it since, and the car’s now at 53k miles. Power-wise, I’m seeing around 373 WHP and 394 lb-ft definitely not huge numbers, but it makes a big difference in daily driving.

One thing I like is that on the EA888.4, you don’t need a downpipe for Stage 2. Just intake and intercooler. That’s great for those in states with strict emissions rules no messing with EPA stuff, just some extra efficiency. It’s also a lot like stock driving, just with more oomph. Turbo lag? Pretty is gone. The stock lag always felt like emissions-controlled boost. With the tune, power comes in smoother and earlier.

I went with APR simply because at the time, they were the only tuner offering a full ECU + TCU tune for the Arteon. Other tuners told me they hadn’t finished the Arteon calibrations yet. APR just had it ready.

It’s not about APR being the best or making crazy power. It’s a balanced daily setup that keeps the car fun and reliable. The only thing I wish APR offered is a mild burble soundnothing wild, just a subtle note on decel. They don’t do that, but it’s okay I might explore it later with a different tune.

Overall, if someone’s on the fence, I just wanted to share that this setup has been smooth. It’s reliable, gives the car some life, and doesn’t break EPA rules. If you’re in the same boat, I hope this helps!
