Debt Consolidation/Personal Loan advice, please?
Hi,
33, living in California, making 79k a year. So I got laid off a few years ago, went through a bad break up and moved way out of town to get away and had some medical bills. The past 3 years, I racked up a lot of debt when I first lost my job, moving and just really had some depression and wasn’t making very good financial decisions.
I’m back on my feet, making more money working than I ever have and have not charged a single thing on any of my credit cards in the last 4 months! I’m stoked about that. However, I still have around 27k in credit card debt that I am making payments on. I pay more than my minimum payments every month but with the high interest rate because my credit score dropped the last couple of years, I feel like I’m not making a huge dent.
My FICO credit score is around the 656-679 depending on which I look at. And my APR on my CCs are around 27%.
Ive been looking into a debt consolidation or personal loan to try and get a lower interest rate so I can pay this off faster. My job is stable, my life is on track and I barely spend any money anymore besides rent, food, and gas.
Does anyone have recommendations on where to apply to get a personal loan or debt consolidation?
