Gravel ride in Ladismith South Africa: 1,2 and 3 May 2026

Summer is nearly gone and the best gravel riding season in the Klein Karoo has just started. There are hundreds of kilometres of gravel roads around Ladismith.

We are riding shorter and longer rides on the 2nd of May (multiple groups).

If you want to join, there is accommodation available (the guesthouses in town are preparing for the riders).

There is a fascinating dinner and talk about risk and probability and the bigger questions about life and the universe by Gary van Vuuren on Saturday evening at Karoocible.

For those who never have riden in Klein Karoo:

• Cape Town (CT) is an easy overnight flight from Europe.

• Ladismith is a 3 hour drive by car from CT.

• Gravel and mountain bikes can be rented in CT if you don't want to fly with yours.

• Guesthouses are easy to find, typically not overbooked and cyclist friendly.
