question for other gainers about mounjaro
Hi all! I've posted a couple times on this subreddit about health stuff, so I wanted to get some feedback/opinions/personal experiences with what I'm about to describe.
So I (29M, 310lbs) have been struggling with type 2 for about a year now. My doc prescribed me glipizide to help lower my A1C, and for awhile it helped me get out of a pretty dangerous number (I dropped from like 9.6 to 6.9, nice). However, I can still tell my body isn't holding up well at my current A1C level - I get sick a lot easier, my body can't fight infections as well, etc.
I followed up with my doctor's office, and they recommended I start taking mounjaro injections. I'm all for getting my A1C to a safe number, but I'm worried about the side effects of weight loss. I told my doctor I'm happy at the weight I'm at (and of course, I want to gain more weight lol), so I was nervous about the injections but told them I'd think about it.
Does anyone have any experience with an injectable GLP-1 like mounjaro, and how did it affect your weight gain/loss? I've skimmed some articles from folks saying that mounjaro actually increased their appetite and they didn't lose any weight, so I'm hoping that's what will happen with me, too!
