I made a small app to view my entire League of Legends skin collection outside the client
Hi guys, so as the title says recently I made a small desktop app: RiftVault [link to the github repo] for myself to view my entire League of Legends skin collection outside the client.
The initial idea came from a problem I kept running into: when i’m in champ select i often don’t remember what skins I actually own for certain champions. For champs I play a lot or are new with just a few skins it’s not really a concern, but for champions I don't usually play I have no idea what skins i have unless I go into the collection tab and check manually. Cycling through skins in the League client during champ select can be a bit clunky XD, so I wanted a faster way to check my collection.
So I wanted something like a personal “Collections → Skins tab” database that i could quickly open and check — even during champ select or without opening the League client at all.
Another thing this helps with is knowing the skin tier. For example in ARAM, even though you can cycle through all the skins as soon as you select the champ, the skin cards don’t really make it obvious whether a skin is Epic, Legendary, etc. (mostly the confusion is just b/w these two tiers rest are pretty obv), so this also makes it easy to quickly check the value/rarity of skins.
The app just reads your skin inventory from the local League client API and shows everything in a clean grid with their respective rarity borders, chromas, and stats. It also shows skins you don’t own if you want to browse them just like the normal league client.
Its completely opensource, so please check and give any suggestions or feature requests.
The app itself is not anything complex (although digging through hundreds of assets was quite a chore lol)and was more of a personal solution + learning project for me. I'm pretty sure an experienced dev can remake something better within a few days. I still don't know why something like this didn't exist.
I know this probably won’t be useful for a lot of people, but i figured some collectors or skin hoarders like me might actually find it helpful.
If this kind of post isn’t allowed here, mods please let me know and I’ll remove it.
