Diplomas Handed to Students Anually Instead of only at the end of High School and College
Here's something I've been thinking about: most students get a new teacher and new classmates every single year in elementary school. You finish a grade, move on, start fresh. But we only celebrate that progress once—at the very end of high school or college.
I started a petition because I think that needs to change. What if schools handed out diplomas every June? Students could have mini-graduations celebrating what they've actually accomplished that year. It'd mark those real transitions instead of treating K–12 like one long slog.
Think about it: kids work hard all year, grow, learn new things. Then in September they start over with a completely different teacher. That's worth acknowledging and celebrating—not just sweeping it aside until age 18.
Does this resonate with anyone? Did you ever feel like your year-to-year progress deserved more than just moving to the next grade? If this feels right to you, consider signing and sharing the petition. Would love to hear what you think.
