Light Rail is a Joke

All of this bullshit and expense just to create something *most* people won’t use. Yes that’s right, *most people* in Seattle won’t ever use it. Not even to get to the airport or a sporting event. We spent all this money to make a vehicle for sprawl. What on earth would the bulk of King County want to go to Lynnwood? Or any of the other shitty places this thing runs to or is slated to run to? Why couldn’t we just build a subway? Don’t give me some crap about “the geology in this region” or “the topography”. It’s nonsense. Our public transit strategy in this city is “make driving as insufferable as possible so people might consider riding a bus or bike”. That’s not viable, and the light rail only helps random people within the city who happen to live near it and work near another station + the occasional airport/sports game ride. The damn thing looks like such a joke too - how it follows the terrain like it was made in rollercoaster tycoon. China would laugh at this project like the joke it is. What a waste of our money. It’s sad how useless our nation our country has become at infrastructure.
