The one and only invitation I sent out for Revolut was to a friend of mine who has recently had to start over in life. I've helped him out quite a bit in the process. For example I bought him a cell phone plus covered his monthly bill and helped him apply for EBT.

He mentioned needing a debit card and fresh in my memory I had seen Revolut increased their bonus to $150. The steps required to complete the bonus are not difficult since they don't require direct deposit. He had never even heard of Revolut so I know he never had an account with them.

He loaded some money into his account, made 3 purchases each over $10 and then he ordered his physical card. That should have been the end of it, but it wasn't.

After he made the last purchase I noticed under the bonus status on my Revolut app that my friend's name changed to ineligible. So I asked their support over chat what the problem is. Their AI bot assured me that the steps were completed and on their end everything is ok I just needed to wait 3-5 business days.

After a week I check and still see no bonus money added to my account. So I chat with support again. This time they give me an email address to contact because they don't understand why I'm not receiving my bonus.

The email informed me that during their review they found that the steps were not completed in time. I knew this was a lie because the chat bot had explained to me originally that only 1 of the 3 transactions were completed at that point in time but as long as the other 2 transactions settled by a specific date then it would be marked as completed successfully. Well the other two transactions did indeed settle in time and support confirmed this.

So here is where the real B.S happens. I requested to talk to a live agent since the support bot had no answer as to what the issue was. That person tells me that an automated validation process rejected my bonus and the decision is in line with their right to deny or reverse rewards.

They had no good reason to withhold that $150 bonus from me. They screwed me over.
