following up etiquette?

just curious, what is the typical guidelines for following up with program advisors (asking when decisions come out) if you’ve received no response so far + program website doesn’t explicitly say a timeline to expect for decisions and not to ask this?

this is my first year applying to REUs so all advice is appreciated!
