Do you need hands to use the force?

When Dooku was handless in ROTS and kneeling. Couldn't he of just rolled away and did some kind of force push? Was he basically waiting for Palpatine to intervene, maybe taken aback and in shock from the realization Palpatine was basically using him?

Or do you basically need hands to use force powers?
