If you’ve done a “service” trip through a tourism agency, like Sierra Club, what was your experience like? Is there a good work/leisure balance?

Hello! So I’m 33, trying to do more traveling affordably this year. I’m browsing the Sierra Club Outings website and see a bunch of group trips to National Parks for less than $1000. Those between 18-35 can apply for a $300 discount if you qualify. They are “service” trips, where you volunteer to help with environmental conservation and in between working you’re able to explore. Does anyone have experience with a trip like this?
