Hi guys, first time poster here! I've been playing with a soul choir (with some gospel & funk songs) since the beginning of this year and found that to be a good reason for building my first bass pedal board. I played with just the EHX battalion for a long time before this (mostly at home or practicing, and 2-3 low key gigs).

What do you think? I did quite some research on the pedals I got so far and I think it's finished for now (at least I don't have space for more pedals ;-)). I still found it hard to choose! Some considerations were:
- Compressor: Cali76 and Empress were too expensive but I didn't want to cheap out either, and wanted to have a visual indicator for gain reduction, so MXR it is.
- Chorus: looked into the EHX bass clone as well, but found a good second hand deal for the Boss.
- Envelope filter: it was between the solid gold fx SupaFunk or MXR bass envelope filter. I went with the SupaFunk based on YouTube videos, I really liked the sound. The only downside is it has no blend so it can lose some low end. So far it seems fine with the color (2nd filter which is lower) turned up and the frequency of the reguler filter turned down.
- Octave: was eying the Boss OC-5 as well for it's versatility, but found a good second hand deal on the EBS OctaBass so went with that. I like the sound so far, but there is a lot of noise coming from it when turned on but idle, seems like it wants to octave every little bit of signal getting through (I.e. touching the strings). Anyone got any experience with this? Is this normal or a faulty circuit?
- Polytune: nothing to dislike here. I got this first after the battalion before I had any further plans, otherwise I might have gone for the smaller version.

In terms of expanding/improving in the future, the next step would either be to upgrade the preamp/DI and replace the EHX Battalion, or get a dedicated dirt pedal. Maybe an overdrive that's quite clean but warm like DG Microtubes Vintage. Or a classic big muff for some more synth-like fuzz sounds. I never really liked the distortion on the battalion and I'm not looking for hardcore metal sounds or anything. I'm also considering getting a Boss line selector to push al my effects through a loop and blend it with the clean signal into the preamp/DI.

Any tips, thoughts or recommendations are welcome!
