Are some narcissists indifferent? Advice please
Hi. The father of my child and I separated after a long and toxic couple year relationship, the past year or so was when things really fizzled out, we were living apart and he lived with his parent and wasn’t putting much effort in with both me and our child. He would come back, breadcrumb and then leave again, he was drinking a lot and overall prioritising a lot more over his child and I. I would spend a lot of time upset and ringing him and texting him over and over and I would get quite anxious.
We fully separated around 4 months ago, after a long off and on relationship. He came back momentarily in January and confused me a little, by this time I’d had enough and had a meltdown and exposed all of the bread-crumbing to his parents and called him every name under the sun in a family group chat, after that I was seen like a lunatic and avoided. After this, I begged for him back and told him I’d change… I apologised for all my wrongdoings and I had reflected a lot. he said no and wanted nothing to do with me, since has been very indifferent, we speak once every few weeks just for our child but I actually went to therapy thinking I was an issue, where they told me my ex is either extremely depressed or a narcissist but has very much a lot of textbook traits and that I was in a one sided trauma bond, I’ve only had a few sessions with my therapist but I’m unsure if this could have been abuse like she says because he just doesn’t care at all now.
I’m obsessed with the thought of him coming back too, not sure if this is normal. But yeah if anyone has any advice, my therapist says it’s a one sided trauma bond due to the highs and lows but I’m not sure
