How my (F 41) sexual trauma affects my boyfriend (M45)

I dont know if this relevant but my partner is on the autism spectrum. I have Ptsd

We have been together for 4 years it has had its ups and downs but i would say moreso from the issues we already had in our life (such as my mental health) that would exist no matter who i was with, not because of our match as a couple. Throughout the progression of our relationship i would say we have both grown for the better (i know i have)

i would say our only real ongoing issue has been physical intimacy as i have a history of sexual trauma which makes me not very interested in intercourse (but we are sexually active in other ways just not full on intercourse). my boyfriend wishes for full intimacy but because of other things that are important to him in the relationship he has chosen to stay

recently i have reached a point where i am feeling more interested in trying full intimacy ( and working on any trauma that might bring up for me) and he has also reached a breaking point where having intercourse is becoming a deal breaker for him

However, currently he is gradually reducing a medication from his doctor and that process will last for several months. the side affects of going off the drug include increased agitation (where he lashes out at times) and im not sure how i feel trauma wise about working on sexual trauma if there is the added factor of him lashing out. But not sure if he can wait until hes done detoxing for us to work on intimacy. What are some ways to handle this situation without it resulting in a breakup if possible?
