Where to Put Crate

We got our 1 year old male cavalier just over a month ago and he has been sleeping in a crate in our room. He’s been great about sleeping through the night and his only issue is the occasional digging in the crate that wakes me up. Otherwise he’s a perfect angel. We had always planned to move his crate out of our room into his own space for him to sleep in. My reasoning for wanting to move him are - I will probably sleep better, he will be able to deal better when we travel and he has to stay with someone else, maybe I can sneak out for an early morning workout without having to take him out at 5am. But I know that cavaliers are super sensitive so I don’t want to break his little heart. Any recommendations?
