Possible onset of hashimotos?
Just after a crowd sourced opinion here.
Got thyroid bloods done recently after feeling a bit odd - high heart rate, awful sleep etc...
I've always had quite high FT4 - in the 20-22pmol range, most recent bloods it came out as 24.9 pmol - reference is < 21.6. FT3 tends to be around 5.6-5.8 pmol/l, this time 6.85 - reference <6.8. TSH tends to be around 1.5 mIU/l, this time 2. Anti-TPO came out at 37 kU/l - reference here is <34.
FT4 has crept up over the last few years I brought this up last year with an endocrinologist who wasn't interested. I'll note my ferritin has been chronically low for a long time with no explanation too - with no response to iron supplements.
However I've heard suggestions that potentially the state now is how something like hashimotos can begin? Or could I just be dealing with some sort of thyroiditis flare up triggered by something?
It's hard to look through clinical literature as typically antibody levels are noted as much higher than my reading, but it's the highest level I've ever had. And, typically any induced hyperthryoid state suppresses TSH - which uh... Isn't happening.
