Women defend lesbian relationship instability and it exposes the whole narrative
Every major study and , more importantly the lesbian community's own vocabulary confirms:
Lesbian relationships have the highest breakup rates of any pairing -"U-Haul lesbian" is a term lesbians coined themselves to describe moving in dangerously fast Lesbian relationships have the highest reported emotional volatility and conflict Gay male relationships are statistically the most stable pairing of all
Bring this up in gender discussion spaces and women immediately reframe it: "that's because women know how to leave bad situations" or "quick exits are healthy, actually."*
That framing dies the second you apply it consistently.
If rapid exits mean better communication and healthier boundaries, gay men should have the worst relationships. No external pressure keeping them together, no "traditional roles" to default to just two people with allegedly poor emotional communication skills. By the logic used to defend lesbian instability, gay male relationships should be a disaster.
They're the most stable of any group. The logic doesn't survive contact with that fact.
Two women together produces more conflict, not less ,which directly contradicts the premise that women are the competent communicators and men are the problem. Women in heterosexual relationships stay longer, which means one of two uncomfortable things is true: women have more patience with men than with each other, or men are actually better at de-escalating tension with women than women are with each other.
The "stigma and social pressure" defense doesn't save it either. Gay men historically faced equal or greater social stigma and still trend more stable. Stigma doesn't explain the gap.
None of this is a gotcha invented by men. Lesbians named these patterns themselves. The data comes from their community. The only reason it becomes controversial is because the conclusions don't fit a narrative where men are the sole source of relationship dysfunction.
