Why do you think their breakup methods are so heartless?

I assume it’s because of their fear of confrontation?

My first avoidant ended a 3 year relationship via text and my next broke up by blocking me with no explanation. I notice that these were particularly cruel compared to a few other people I’ve dated who weren’t outright avoidants that would give me some respect and decency when they wanted to end the relationship.

I’ve read very similar stories and want to know why this is. In the case of the guy who blocked me, I offered to end things two days prior because I could sense he was losing interest and needed space…only for him to reassure me & talk sweeter than ever before, so then the blocking came completely out of left field! Why do they do this?
