Windows 11 machine keeps freezing

Hey I recently went from Linux mint to windows (it's just easier to use and I want to play games online) when I started it up I didint have many issues but a little while into it, my computer started freezing often. Me and my friend thought at first that it was the fact that I had installed it on a hard drive and not an SSD and that was the problem so we put it on the SSD and it had the same issue. It seems to happen most often when apps open or even when the PC itself is starting up. I don't think this is a ram issue or a graphic driver issue, it may be an issue with my motherboard, my friend who built the thing says he got it off of AliExpress but I don't feel like sinking the time and money to find a new board.
