Instrument check-ride failure
Hello, I’m a 21 year old private pilot and a couple days ago I failed my instrument checkride…on the oral. I failed on something I knew, but when I couldn’t answer the DPE’s questions right away like all the previous questions he asked me, I panicked. Though, after some probing, I came to the correct conclusion for the answer he asked me, it was still too late. The initial answer I gave him, and my conclusion were too different, and I didn’t come off as confident. It was only 48 hours ago but it genuinely feels like my career I’ve worked so hard for up until this point is crumbling. I know for a fact I love flying and I’m deeply ashamed. I can’t imagine a life without flying and I’m just wondering if it’s worth it to continue my journey in aviation with a ding for an oral failure. Any guidance would be appreciated.
