Got tired of Android not supporting .CR3 files, so I built a direct USB-C import tool.
It’s frustrating that Android still struggles with Canon’s .CR3 RAW format. Between the OS not recognizing the files properly and the 99-file import limit in the built-in picker, moving a wedding or a long shoot to a phone is a nightmare.
I built a small, open-source app that treats your Canon camera as a high-speed source. It uses MTP Host Mode over USB-C to find, identify, and move .CR3 files directly to your storage.
- The Fix: Full
.CR3detection and batch transfer. - The Workflow: Plug in, auto-detect, and "Import to Lightroom" in one tap.
- The Privacy: 100% offline and open source.
