5 different psychiatrist and 4 diagnosis in 2 years
Hello, sorry for my english, but ill try my best. So basically it started 2 years ago after my ex cheated on me, i go really depressed, sh and suicidal thought. Got my first consultation online, where doctor said its probably bpd. i started taking venlafaxine and in 2 weeks i had hypomania, and also had consultation with another psychiatrist. Then 2nd psychiatrist also said about bpd and told me to keep taking venlafaxine but added flupentixole. Then my mom found "best psychiatrist in my city" and she was treating me for almost 2 years, usually antipsychotics and sometimes antidepressants. Diagnosis was anxiety-depressive syndrome. I started gaining weight every time she was prescribing me antidepressants, even tho i dont think i need it and i always had a lot of side effects. Antipsychotics worked pretty much well for me. After 2 years i decided to get another opinion again and now other 2 psychiatrists are questioning bipolar disorder type 2 + BPD symptoms(they say i dont have traumatic event in childhood so it cant me BPD, but i still hace symptoms) Also one of the last things ive got was depressive episode(i think 7th in last year, but they usually last like 7 week, only 3 of then were about 1 month) Also 1 years of therapy helped a lot.
It is normal that every time i hear something new? Any other people who went though multiple psychiatrists to get medication that will work? Also would like to hear any opinion on situation and advice.
