Southwest: "we need 12 more people to check their carry-on luggage."

I fly southwest a lot. They're turning it into a shit show and its not helping anyone.

Its so annoying to listen to them beg people to check their carry-on bags before flights. "Its free" as if thats an incentive instead of what used to be the standard.

Do you know when overhead space became an issue? When you started charging for checked bags. If youre going to check them for free at the gate anyway why not just go back to allowing passengers to check a free bag before going through security?

Im not even going to address the other issues with boarding that exist now sice they got away from the A, B, and C groups.
