Smoke smell still in house after small kitchen fire. What actually removes it?

We had a small kitchen fire about a week ago. The flames were put out quickly so there was not major structural damage, but the smoke spread through the kitchen and into the hallway.

So far we have tried a few things:

Wiping down cabinets and walls

Running fans and opening windows

Cleaning surfaces with household cleaners

The visible soot is mostly gone, but the smoke smell still seems to linger in certain areas of the house.

I am wondering if the odor is probably trapped in things like drywall, insulation, or vents. I have read mixed advice online about whether regular cleaning eventually removes smoke smell or if deeper treatment is usually needed.

For anyone who has dealt with smoke smell after a house fire, what actually worked to get rid of it?

Did normal cleaning solve it or did you need something more serious to remove the smell completely?
