How is the Lambda Athena so damn efficient?

My friend purchased this razor and said I needed to try it. Borrowed it for today's shave and I was wowed. Pretty efficient, one of the closest shaves I've ever got. Used my typical Gillette Permasharps. The specs on paper are a blade gap of 0.43mm and neutral exposure (0mm). Nothing that would suggest that kind of effectiveness. So can someone explain this witchcraft? Because now I'm lusting after one.
