Clogging with Arko

Ive got a rockwell 6s, I use the #6 plate and arko. I notice when I shave it clogs like a bastard, but I noticed a couple days ago it seems to melt away better with cold water than it does with hot water. Am I crazy or has anyone else noticed this?
