How hiring in India affected our SaaS marketing team
I lead marketing at a US based SaaS company and over the past year we started hiring part of our team in India to support content and performance marketing. What surprised me is how much hiring structure can affect marketing execution speed.
We initially focused only on finding the right talent, but quickly realized compliance and payroll setup could slow things down. Since we were testing with a small team, we chose to hire through an Employer of Record instead of opening an entity. In our case we worked with Wisemonk for India focused employment support, while our internal team managed goals and output.
Operationally, once contracts and payroll were stable, campaign execution became smoother because there was less back and forth on administrative issues. The marketers felt integrated and aligned with our global roadmap.
For other SaaS leaders hiring in India, did your employment structure impact ramp time or retention? Curious how much hiring infrastructure plays into marketing performance long term.
