The most amusing part is that most who claim to "understand" the song are projecting. In reality it was rarely mythic tragedy just ordinary mistakes that got certain people disliked. The actual "bad man" is usually someone whose personality wiring never allowed healthy development in the first place. They never had a real choice their entire trajectory was taken from them before the option even existed. That absence of agency is the only truly corrosive part.
