Japan shore pass

Hi! I have a separate booking from India to Tokyo (Japan Airlines) and then Tokyo to US(Hawaiian Airlines). Both of these tickets have different confirmation number and Japan Airlines couldn’t link them. Does anyone have experience clearing immigration, collecting their checked baggage and re-checking them for second flight? I see an option for shore pass, is their any specific eligibility and is this possible at NRT? Thanks!
