Imposter syndrome hitting only after 95k words

Discussion

Hello there,

I'm not really looking for advice, as I have procrastinated by watching and reading all the advice around this that the internet has to offer... But maybe you want to share if you have experienced something similar! (Although of course, advice is always appreciated)

I startet writing my first novel 5 months ago. The last time I had written something (the biggest project being maybe... 5 000 words) I was 15 (now I'm 30).

Since then, it has been amazing! I am so so happy that I rediscovered this passion and that it also felt almost easy (not really though lol) to write consistently. I would have never thought that I would stick to it and actually write 95k words in a few months!

Well, now it's missing only the finale, and all of sudden imposter syndrome/fear hits. I am overwhelmed by the feeling that if I finish it, I won't be satisfied anyway, or that I will have to read my novel and face the truth that I'm actually not really good at it. After months of telling myself successfully that it doesn't matter if the first draft isn't really good.

I know I just need to keep pushing - this is a common pattern for me in my life. So please just feel free to share your experience with this, I'd love to read about it (so I can procrastinate more lol)!
