Barrels exploding from proximity???

Hey Borderlands hardcores!!

Can someone help me out or explain to me why my green tree Harlowe is causing barrels (canisters/fuel) to activate and explode when I’m positioned next to them?

I’m not shooting or interacting with them, just the proximity is activating the explosion.
