Best way to start Bagalā–Pratyangirā Kavach as a daily practice? (count/frequency question)
Hello,
I’m looking for practical guidance on starting Bagalā–Pratyangirā Kavach in a safe, grounded way.
Questions:
- What’s the best way to begin (prep, mindset, do’s/don’ts)?
- Can this be included as part of a daily practice, or is it better done only occasionally / under strict guidance?
- What’s a typical or recommended count/frequency? I was considering 8 times (one per yoginī - bhrāmarī, stambhanī, kṣobhiṇī, mohinī, samhāriṇī, drāviṇī, jṛmbhiṇī and raudrarūpiṇī, as mentioned in the kavach) — does that make sense, or would you suggest a different count?
Context (so you know where I’m coming from):
- Currently I’m doing Ucchiṣṭa Gaṇapati sādhanā.
- I performed Bagalāmukhī sādhanā a couple of years ago for a specific purpose, under initiation. I’m not actively practicing her sādhanā right now. I’m considering this kavach partly because it offers a daily form of worship of Maa Bagalāmukhī while keeping my main practice unchanged.
- My intention for this kavach is general wellbeing and protection for me and my family — specifically protection from physical and/or “psychic” negativity/threats. Not looking for anything aggressive.
Any inputs from experienced sadhakas esp in this kavach or Maa Bagalāmukhī sādhanā will help me. I genuinely want to approach this responsibly.
Thanks in advance.
