Need some help and guidance.

VA Disability Claims :claim:

Im trying to help my wife get disability benefits and I saw that this was a good place to look for help. She was in the Navy from 2006-2010. Did 3 combat tours on the USS Eisenhower. About 5 years ago I was finally able to get her to see a psychiatrist, she would have outbursts of extreme anger, to the point where she would punch herself and bite herself. She has been being treated for BPD and depression eber since. Not had an official diagnosis but im sure the psychiatrist would give her one if she asked. She also has chronic knee and back pain for which she saw a chiropractor for a little while for. Its hard for me to write this but she says she was also sexually assaulted while on board the ship. She never reported that because she says when women did they would basically be slut shamed and it would be brushed under the rug. She also said thsy while on one of her deployments, a man on the flight deck had his head cut off by an aircraft wing while it was launching. They all had to watch the video of it happening and it has affected her ever since. There is documentation of this accident happening, ypu can look it up and it was on her ship while she was on a deployment. She was honorably discharged after completing her contract. She worked in corrections for almost 4 years but had to quit last year because of her mental state and anger consuming her at work. Can anyone please help us with where do we start to get the claim started? What to expect and any tips that would help her in getting what I feel like she deserves. Thank you to everyone in advance, I look forward to your responses. If it helps at all, we are in Kentucky.
