Need advice regarding OBU

Posting for a friend:

Hi, all. I sat my PM exam yesterday, first attempt. I'd like to think it went well, but some difficulties at the centre rendered 15 minutes of my time wasted, so that led to me unfortunately skipping 4 of my OTQs. Regardless, I'm in limbo as to whether I'll pass or not.

This is where OBU comes in. I started ACCA in 2024 and have been grinding non-stop up till now to make it in time for the BSc. I know it isn't deathly important, but it has been a goal of mine ever since I began this qualification.

The only thing standing in between me and OBU now is my PM results. I've cleared all my other exams on the first attempt, so that gives me some assurance that I'll be able to clear this, too... but PM's quarterly pass rates tell me otherwise, LMAO.

So yeah, I'm currently stuck between two choices: either I start preparing for OBU not exactly knowing if I'll even be eligible, or I forgo this silly aspiration of mine and start prepping for my Professional module right away + get a job. I think the biggest opportunity cost of the first option is having my time wasted, in the event I don't pass but am halfway through my OBU report.

UOL isn't an option since I get no equivalent benefit out of it at such a high cost.

What do you all think? Is it worth taking a gamble now, or should I better focus elsewhere? For those who might be in the same boat as me, what is your perspective on the BSc?
