Sci Fi Short story from the 2020s about a society who use tablet like devices to see life choices

The story was about someone who gained access to a tablet like device that let him see the choices other versions of himself made. He didn't have a way to contact them directly that I remember, and I believe he repaired them or had to take his to be repaired. I believe it came out sometime in the last five years, I remember reading it sometime in the last two years (2024-2025). I also want to say it was a nominee or winner of some sort of award, but I checked and didn't see exactly what I remember in any of the stories that were nominees for the Hugo Award or things like that.
