I'm not sure how to ask this briefly: shed, rain humidify, bass
Background: I got an upright bass a while back because it was starting to come apart at the seems and was cheap. I have worked on violins, a couple guitars, a little banjo and mandolin. Someone at the local bluegrass jam says he can help me fix it. I can't get the humidity in my house up to proper levels Pt2. I know wood is more forgiving when properly humidified. Pt. 3. It's been raining all week so the relative humidity outside is like 90%. (40-50°F) The shed has a roof but no door. So, it is sheltered but humidity The Question: would putting the bass (still in its soft case) in the shed for a few days help it or help get it to a point I can work on it. Or would the hight humidity and low temperature make it a lot worse? As of now, the bass is in such a state I can't afford to have a professional repair it, and it won't sell for hardly anything. So, it's my project.
