I still can’t get past how Holly was able to ever move on from the “Little Tooties” incident (aka Abby being racist)

As a lot of us know, in s2 when Holly suggested to Abby that Nia be a filler for Paige in a duet, Abby went off on her saying that her image for the team was skinny blonde girls (in other terms not Nia) and that she didn’t ask to have a “Tootie” on the team, referencing a black character from an old sitcom. This fight specifically sparked Holly’s attempt to get her and Nia off the show, the producers feeling bad and gifting the girls ipads as hush money, and a child psychologist being added to check in with the girls occasionally. They were not able to get out of the contract with Lifetime.

Honestly, it kind of drove me crazy that Holly still expected Abby to give Nia opportunities and look out for her best interest after that, considering she showed her true colors. Abby IS a racist. She asked Nia if she wished she had white girl hair, criticized and made fun of her feet saying they weren’t “dancer feet” because she’s black, gave her racially stereotypical dances, hinted at possibly letting a white girl play Rosa Parks in a dance, said that Kalani was “more African” than Nia etc. Obviously, Abby only ever viewed Nia as a skin color, not a person or a dancer. Therefore why would Holly expect anything from her at all throughout their duration on the show?

It was an incredibly sad situation. I also criticize some of the other moms for not saying anything when the Tootie thing went down originally. I know that it was a different time, but it was just blatant racism.
