am i a social failure?

i feel like im ready to meet someone who understands me, and really gets me. romantically. but i have never dated, and dont know how to approach/find good guys. am i a social failure? is there something wrong with me? because its a very bad and low sinking feeling this want to you know fall in love or get into a relationship but unable to just because you dont know how to. what should i do?
