Can someone explain the "I haven't had sex in months" scene in the cabin

Forgive me if this has already been discussed.

In the last episode when Ilya says "I haven't had sex with anyone in months" and "it's not a big deal", Shane follows up with "I haven't either". I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean or imply. Ilya knows Shane and Rose were not compatible months prior to the cabin. Shane has never had any other partners I believe. I assume Ilya knows this about Shane already? Or does this scene imply that Ilya DOESN'T know this about Shane. Meaning Ilya thinks Shane sometimes has casual sex?

Someone explain because I might be over thinking.
