i feel like the worst owner everrrr😭😭

Im trying to bond with my crested gecko and so I put my hand in front of him and he bit me. It didn't hurt obviously but it happened so fast and so I accidentally flicked my hand and he flew onto the glass door and ran away. Its not like I'm scared of him but its an automatic reaction to him biting me. How do i stop!! Ugh!!!
