Help me with school list!
Hello, I am a premed student who decided on medicine pretty late (towards the end of Junior year of undergrad). I graduated last year and currently taking gap year to get some clinical and volunteer hours. I am not too sure if I am too delusional or if there are any other good schools to add or take off of the list and what not. I mainly just used admit.org for now.
anyways, here are my stats:
- cGPA: 3.95 / sGPA: 4.00
- MCAT: 516
- Clinical Hours: ~300 hours (medical scribe)
- Shadowing hours: 50 hours - Orthopedic surgery: both OR and clinic
- Clinical volunteering: ~150 hours (Outpatient surgery - I bring in patient to the pre-op rooms from a lobby and take vital signs, instruct them on what to expect and what to do, etc.)
- Non-clinical volunteering: ~100 hours (Animal shelter, Non-profit Pancreatic cancer organization, and undergrad major department's new student orientation)
- Research: ~500 hours (Neuroscience research, non-clinical, no publications, mostly computational work - some histology prep and imaging)
- Texas resident, Asian, immigrant background
- Leadership: leadership position in undergrad club fencing team - not super significant imo :(
