What is the solution for girls with chronic telogen effluvium?

Support/Advice

Hi everyone! I’ve had hair loss in different phases of my life usually after traumatic events or vitamin deficiencies. Since I was a teenager (now I’m 24), I’ve lost over half of my hair. I’m currently going through another phase of shedding and I simply don’t know when this will end of me. This phase has been happening for 10 months now and it doesn’t stop or slow down and all of my labs are fine. I use topical minoxidil, but the hair shedding doesn’t stop so it really doesn’t make a difference while I’m shedding bc my hair just keeps shedding. And the derm I’ve seen in the past did not recommend spiro, finasteride, or even oral minoxidil etc. because the hair loss is not AGA or PCOS related. Instead, I’m always just told to wait for the shedding to stop and keep using topical minoxidil despite it not really making a difference.

Is there anything I can I do? What can I tell a dermatologist or doctor to make them take me seriously because it feels like I’m essentially being told to just keep letting my hair shedding to the point where my scalp is now becoming more visible. Anything helps :(
